Seismic Coverage

Spatial and database files of UKOGL referenced seismic locations based on UK National Grid Co-ordinates. The DBF files are updated on a monthly basis to reflect the latest additions to the Library.

The 'Archived' field categories are:

Y - The line is part of the current archive. All data, where available, can be licensed
P - Preliminary archive. Post stack and navigation data is available to be licensed immediately
N - Line yet to be brought into Library

Occasionally the download file coverage will need to be re-generated where new surveys have been added or amendments made to existing locations. The date of the most recently produced ESRI Shapefile (.shp) is: June 30th 2009

UK Onshore 2D Seismic Locations - UK (British) National Grid

All seismic locations have been derived from the centralised UKOGL archive. Most lines provided in this series of download files have either been decimated or waypointed.

In general, the locations for surveys acquired prior to the early 1970's are likely to be based on shot/source values whereas surveys from this date onwards are in the main common depth point positions. These files are subject to ongoing revision and addition.

While the UK Onshore Geophysical Library has made all reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of this information, it does not warrant the integrity of the data. The Library will not be liable in contract or in tort for any loss, damage, expense or injury of any nature suffered by the user as a result of the use of, or reliance on, this data.

Many of these locations have not been independently verified by either the DECC or by UKOGL. If you notice any discrepancies in any of the data displayed, we would be very grateful if you could inform either the DECC or UKOGL, so that we can amend our records accordingly.
