Guaranteed provision of hard copy sections and digital stacked data. Field data and supporting acquisition data can only be supplied on a best effort basis.

Supplemental to the provision of a full license, it is also the aim of the Library to actively encourage increased utilisation of its unique seismic archive by allowing for a more economic limited short term access, designed to provide real assistance to companies in the early phases of exploration, especially for those seeking to work up new plays and new areas of the UK.

Full License

Reconnaissance Data

Applicable: Seismic surveys located greater than 5 Kms from the boundary of any existing PEDL or other exploration and production license as held by the Purchaser or associated Group member.
Cost: £25.00 per km/ km²
Duration: For a period not to extend two years
Terms: Limited sub-license access to post stack data only, conveying no rights of ownership over the seismic data and restricted to the following options
Options : At any time within or up to 30 days after the expiration of the 2 year limited license period the limited license option can be upgraded to a full license by the payment of an additional £85 per km/ km². If this upgrade is not undertaken by the expiration date of the limited license, all seismic data provided under the limited license shall be returned to the Library and the Purchaser shall have no further rights to the use of such data.
In the event that a PEDL is awarded to the Purchaser or associate Group member within a 4 year period following the purchase of the Reconnaissance Data limited license, the Purchaser must commit to making a further payment of £85 per km/ km² as an upgrade to a full license in respect of all seismic data subject to the limited license and which lie within the boundaries of the relevant PEDL, and the adjacent area, if any, subject to a supplementary seismic survey license relating to such PEDL. Block Evaluation Data

Applicable: Seismic surveys located within or not more than 5 Kms from the boundaries of an existing PEDL or other exploration and production license as held by the Purchaser or associated Group member.
Cost: £50.00 per km/ km²
Duration: Until PEDL subsequently drilled or relinquished
Options : At any time up to the relinquishment of the PEDL the limited license option can be upgraded to a full license by the payment of an additional £60 per km/ km². If this upgrade is not undertaken by the relinquishment of the PEDL, all seismic data provided under the limited license shall be returned to the Library and the Purchaser shall have no further rights to the use of such data
In the event that a well is subsequently drilled on the PEDL after the purchase of the limited license then the Purchaser must commit to making a further payment of £60 per km/ km² within 30 days of the spudding of such well as an upgrade to a full license in respect of all seismic subject to the limited license. The PEDL is determined as at the confirmation of award. Please see Supplemental Details

Supplemental Details

Both the Reconnaissance Data and the Block Evaluation Limited Licences can be upgraded to a full license at any time within their respective durations.

Group Escalations Fees of £10 per km/ km² per additional participant are applicable on all agreements. Companies or individuals which subsequently join a Purchaser in ownership of a PEDL after the purchase of such a limited license of seismic data will be obliged to pay a £10 per km/ km² escalation fee and will be bound by the same conditions. There will be no obligation to pay additional Escalation Fees on upgrades to a full license.

Where seismic data has not yet been archived an additional Archive Fee will be levied to obtain and process the data. Under certain circumstances, it may be possible for the Library to share the costs of the archiving with the Purchaser.

Where the above terms call for payments to be made on PEDL awards, well spudding, PEDL relinquishments or other such actions, the Purchaser will undertake to inform the Library as soon as is practicable of such actions which are of relevance to the agreements with the Library.

Archival Charges

All available data pertinent to the lines for which the license fee has been paid will be obtained, catalogued, reformatted and archived in the Library. The cost of this work will be covered by the licensee. Current archiving costs are on average £30.00 per km/ km².
